Pivot!
Pivot is the word of the moment and is no longer just the episode of Friends when Ross is trying to get his new sofa up the stairs of his apartment block.
No matter what kind of relationship breakup you’re going through, your identity is changing and it’s a time of new beginnings, new learnings. Some big, some small.
My car’s headlamp bulb blew, and I found a video on YouTube to guide me through the process of changing. The first time I did, it felt uncomfortable and scary because I was focusing on what could go wrong. Yesterday, I changed a bulb for the third time, and I did it with competent confidence, no longer needing to refer to the instructions.
It’s the same with personal development. There are resources out there to guide you through the change. Would you rather stay in your comfort zone and live an uncomfortable life, or pivot and take uncomfortable, imperfect action to start building your own dream instead of living someone else’s?
We’re not coming out of this year the same way we went into it, so let’s get off the sofa and embrace the pivot. Or as Ross would yell, PIVAAT!
