How to win every day
Did you go to bed last night with the intention you were going to get up this morning, eat healthily, go out for a walk, do some exercise, do something to further your career and be kinder to your family? And did you wake up this morning, look out the window at that beautiful sun in the sky, feel the warmth on your face and just pull the covers back up over your head? There's a lot of overwhelm out there at the moment and if any of these are ringing true for you, you're not alone.
So, today's message is just about focusing on doing just one thing. What's one thing on your To Do list that you can do today - the one that would make you feel the best?
A French entertainer called Michel Lotito had a stage show involving eating metal, glass and rubber. He cut up and ate bicycles, shopping carts, televisions but he’s most famous for ‘eating’ a Cessna 150 light aircraft. It took him roughly two years to eat it, from 1978 to 1980. Now, I’m not suggesting that you beat his Guinness Book of Records achievement, but he did it by grinding it down into little bits. So why not take that one thing you want to achieve, break it up into little bits, do a bit of grinding if necessary to make things more palatable and get it done. Think of how good you will feel. It's all about baby steps. The only way you are sure to fail is if you fail to start, so baby steps. Be kind to yourself. Any habits that you've got have been building up for years and years so take it a bit at a time and celebrate the wins, no matter how small.
